Horizon: the rifle at the service of the hunter

One of the most frequent questions Franchi has received since the launch of bolt action rifle Horizon was: “Why Franchi has decided to produce a rifled barrel shotgun for the first time in its history?”

Actually, Franchi had previously produced a rifle: Centenial 12 LR caliber.

However, the aim of Horizon is to offer a perfect shooting to the hunter, regardless of which kind of hunt he or she practices.

Now a second question arises: “Why should I choose bolt action Horizon, a product made by a brand that was far from rifled barrel shotguns for many years?”

Which ones?

1. Ergonomics and endurance of the stock

the synthetic butt is in polymer loaded with fibreglass that improves the resistance, even with heavier calibers such as 7mm caliber or higher.

Horizon rifle butt comply with XS platform which, by analyzing more than 1.000 hunters’ habits, returned as result an extremely ergonomic stock with 5 grip points, including pistol grip, to fulfill every hunter’s need.

The stock is projected to have the mouths for the swivels (supplied in the packaging) and provision for mounting a bipod.

2. Decrease of recoil thanks to tsa_adv recoil pad

Tsa Adv recoil pad contains polyurethane foams that expand when shooting, absorbing up to 50 % of the recoil.

It is available in three thicknesses, to fulfill different LOP.

3. Reliability and steadiness of the rifle

are ensured by the three lug bolt for a better steadiness of the locking system and more safety. A 60-degree aperture, in combination with the streamlined conical bolt handle, guarantee quick and easy repetition of the shot.

The conical bolt handle is changeable without special tools. The butt of the Horizon is fixed by two screws and a practical aluminium recoil lug interacts with a double seat integrated into the action.

4. Precision of the rifle’s barrel

is the result of the material it is made of, cold hammer forged in chrome molybdenum steel. Packaging box includes MOA certificate, where it is indicated which kind of ammunition has been used for the test.

5. Flexibility

of the product, which is available in calibers: .223 REM, .243 WIN, .270 WIN, 30-06 SPD, .308 WIN, 6,5 CREEDMOR and .300 WIN MAG.

Horizon is designed in different models: Black Synt, Colored and Anniversario. The trigger mechanism can be adjusted from 900 to 1,800 grams; a set trigger is available. Moreover, the mounts for the scope have Remington 700 type threading, perfect for the majority of hunting optics.

6. Safety of the gun

from the increased tang on the head, two lower holes for venting gasses, two-position safety, which facilitates the opening of the bolt.

Horizon rifle is 100% made in Italy, it has 7-year warranty on the mechanical parts.

7. Strong hunting soul

from a flat stock on the lower part of the barrel, that makes the rifle stable in every shooting position. Moreover, the lightweight of Horizon, almost 3 kg in every model, makes it a perfect gun for facing even the longest walks during the hunt.
