BEYOND 150150 YEARS OF HISTORY
Founded in 1868, Franchi represents more than 150 years of passion, research, development and energies, ever with the same desire that every hunter has at the beginning of each new day in nature.
A family of entrepreneurs in the eighteenth-century world of silk, Franchi took up a new challenge in 1868, founding the Luigi Franchi arms factory and giving life to one of the longest-lived industrial companies in the gunmaking sector. In 1930, one of the most successful achievements marked its history: the Imperial Montecarlo side by side.
The post-war period is a happy period for Franchi and marks a new record: the creation of the lightest semi-automatic in the world, which in 1954 will receive, the only gun in history, the prize Compasso d’Oro, the most authoritative worldwide recognition of industrial design. Its name is 48 AL.
The Made in Italy acquires esteem in all fields, becoming synonymous with style. Franchi also enjoys this prestige, expanding its market to include the American one. I n 1966 the new factory was inaugurated in Brescia and, two years later, Franchi celebrated another great milestone: 100 years.
1979 is the year that sees the birth of one of Luigi Franchi’s most famous products, the SPAS 12, two-mode gun with gas recoil and a pump, from which SPAS 15 will subsequently be born. The success over time has made them true icons of the sector.
At the end of 1995, Franchi became part of the prestigious Beretta Group and, after an unfavorable situation, relaunches itself on the international market, maintaining its own design office and sales network.
2011 is another turning point year. The re-branding process begins which culminates with a new logo, simple and captivating, a new color, the unmistakable “Franchi Orange”, a new image, which is aimed at a young and enterprising public.
From the concept of hunting beyond the shot Franchi Food Academy was conceived in 2015, a project that aims to spread the flavors of hunting culture with a series of initiatives aimed at enhancing game meat and spreading taste education, through healthy and quality cuisine.
